Sometimes we stumble upon amazing and unexpected things...

On Wednesday night I happened to look up and see these two really bright stars hanging out together. Of course, from what I know about astronomy, bright stars are usually planets. The couple were Venus and Jupiter. Their conjunction actually occurred the night before on June 30, 2015, but their proximity was still enough to make me gaze in awe.

This conjunction is known as the "Bethlehem Star" and some conjecture that this is the phenomenon noticed about 2000 years ago and noted so famously. It is the sign of significant events, change, and good fortune. I wonder if that is true for me. I hope it is a sign of greater things to come.

Note: Venus and Jupiter are the Roman names for Aphrodite, goddess of love and Zeus, the hurler of thunderbolts.
